Our customers’ fingerprints are all over our newest truck -- the Freightliner Cascadia -- because it was with their feedback in mind that we developed the incredible new features that are truly valuable to them. We are extremely happy about this fact as our customers are and have always been our inspiration. Central to this idea is that most important concept of collaboration between people, or, as we like to say, being 100 Percent Connected! Collaboration is essential to our people, our customers and the all new Freightliner Cascadia.

People are at the heart of business, both internally and externally, so it is vitally important to put communication at the center of everything we do. Communication is at the heart of our strategic process. At Daimler Trucks North America the biggest leadership opportunity today is to ensure that we are 100 percent connected, as dialogue between people is key to understanding, to problem solving, to inspiring the best in people, to creativity, and to the communities in which we live and work.

With over 20,000 people, nine corporate locations and multiple brands, collaboration is central to our culture. It is a core enabler and that special ingredient that enables us to connect people faster, to share ideas quicker and to spark creativity so we can dream, design, engineer, manufacture, sell and service great trucks.

I believe it is the combination of internal and external collaboration that gives us the double impact, or double whammy effect. New technology has been changing the way we communicate at Daimler for years. We had video link customer communication nearly 20 years ago in our businesses, and certainly new technology today continues to help our people better connect, communicate and collaborate. Finally though, we would caution readers, as rock solid relationships are the key to unified communication and collaboration, that face to face meetings are still appropriate and necessary. Bottom line: Our continued success depends on connecting our people to generate even more of their amazing ideas.
