PORTLAND, Ore. – Freightliner Trucks has announced today that Forestry Equipment of Virginia (FEVA) has purchased 75 Freightliner Business Class® M2 106 trucks.
Based in Forest, Va., FEVA specializes in mounting aerial lifts for the forestry industry. FEVA is a final-stage manufacturer that assembles its own trucks, and is the only forestry equipment manufacturer that stocks finished trucks. Its inventory includes six standard trucks including rear mounted and forestry units.
“Durability is so important to our customers – they require trucks that can withstand adverse, off-road conditions,” said Bob Dray, sales and marketing manager for Forestry Equipment of Virginia. “From its aluminum chassis to the multiplex wiring system to the safety features, the M2 106 is the right fit for all of our needs.”
The durable Freightliner Business Class M2 106 features a 2,500-square inch windshield, a low profile dash and sloped hood for superior visibility. Comfort features such as wide door openings and low step-in heights enhance overall driver safety and productivity. A 55-degree wheel cut, set back front axle and swept-back bumper contribute to the truck’s outstanding maneuverability – ideal for forestry applications.
“The M2 106 is light-weight and sturdy, and is equipped with several features that are important to this industry,” said Melissa Clausen, director of product marketing for Freightliner Trucks. “The forestry sector is an emerging market for Freightliner, and we know that FEVA and its customers will be impressed with the Business Class M2 106.”
