GAFFNEY, S.C.—Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) is pleased to announce the promotion of April P. Newton from Technical Sales Manager to Product Manager—Commercial Buses. In her new position, Newton oversees the sales, marketing, dealer training and brand-management efforts for Freightliner’s entire line of shuttle bus and school bus chassis. Her focus is on exercising her leadership and management skills to continue growing Freightliner’s commercial bus market share and implementing leading-edge technology.
Newton brings a wealth of experience to her new position. Prior to being promoted, she handled all aspects of sales support for shuttle bus OEMs and customers, including requests for new projects. She not only prioritized new projects but also reviewed bids and quoting, supplied technical information concerning all chassis components, handled customer relations and chassis corrective-action initiatives and led concept team meetings.
Newton joined FCCC in 1996. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina at Spartanburg and holds a B.S. degree in business administration with a concentration in management.
