Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation Further Widens Lead in Diesel RV Chassis Market
GAFFNEY, S.C. …Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) continues to extend its leadership of the Class A diesel RV chassis market. In 2002, FCCC’s share of the Class A diesel RV market rose 5.6 percentage points to 45.6 percent. The closest competitor trailed by 13.0 percentage points. The data comes from the latest RV market report prepared by Statistical Surveys, Inc.

Conlan attributed FCCC’s market share increase to the strong sales from motorhome manufacturers that use FCCC chassis, including Airstream, Alfa Leisure, Coachmen Industries, Damon, Fleetwood, Forest River, Four Winds, Georgie Boy Manufacturing, Gulfstream, King of the Road, National RV, Newmar, Tiffin, Triple E of Canada and Winnebago.
According to data from Statistical Surveys, FCCC’s Class A diesel RV retail sales totalled 7,129 units in 2002, an increase of 1,442 units or 25.4 percent. Sales overall for the industry grew by 9.8 percent.
