Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation Offers Multiple Module Data Computer in XC Motorhome Chassis
GAFFNEY, S.C. … Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) is now offering the Multiple Module Data Computer (MMDC) with a driver display as a standard feature on all its XC chassis. The MMDC provides a display system for drivers, which includes a trip computer and diagnostics and chassis information on a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD).
The MMDC is part of FCCC’s standard chassis wiring system. It takes data from the Engine Control Module (ECM), Transmission Control Unit (TCU) and Anti-lock Brake System Electronic Control Unit (ABS/ECU) and distributes it to gauges, warning lights, warning buzzers and an Interactive Graphical Information Center Display (Info Center). The Info Center is capable of displaying text messages and graphics to communicate vital real-time information to the operator about the status and performance of the vehicle. This eliminates the need to purchase aftermarket systems that provide these capabilities.
Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation is the first chassis maker to offer the MMDC as standard equipment. “The MMDC will provide drivers with vital information and peace of mind that will make owning one of our chassis an even greater experience,” said Dean Schaper, FCCC’s Director of Sales and Marketing. “Offering the MMDC as standard equipment on our XC chassis is part of FCCC’s commitment to superior quality and value, leading the way in new technology.”
Martin Payne, Director of Marketing and Sales at Medallion Instrumentation Systems, which makes the MMDC, said, “The Information Center is a powerful and flexible tool for managing the ever-increasing amount of information available to vehicle operators. It is capable of displaying text and graphics to communicate vital real-time information about the status and performance of the vehicle to the operator. FCCC instrumentation systems built around this technology are setting new standards for quality, value and customer satisfaction.”
