Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation Receives ISO 9001:2000 Certification For Operations Process
GAFFNEY, S.C…Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation has received ISO 9001:2000 certification for its operations process. Previously certified under the ISO 9001:1994 standard, Freightliner Custom Chassis achieved its new qualification this fall.
"Our new ISO 9001:2000 certification gives customers even greater reassurance and confidence when choosing our chassis," said Jack Conlan, President of Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation. "Our customer base has come to depend on our products as possessing the highest level of quality and workmanship possible. The company's new ISO 9001:2000 certification reinforces that belief."
ISO 9001 is an international standard used as a foundation for quality management systems. The ISO 9001 audit focuses on specific areas of operation, including management responsibility, resource management, product realization, and measurement, analysis and improvement. The new 2000 standard assesses how processes interact as a whole, rather than gauging procedures individually. The new standard places an emphasis on continual improvement, customer satisfaction and statutory/regulatory systems. The company’s ISO audit was conducted by TUV Rheinland of North America, Inc., a quality registrar.
"Our team received extensive training over the past year to meet the requirements of the new ISO 9001:2000 standard," said Dick DeMaranville, Manager, Quality Assurance for Freightliner Custom Chassis. "This training has helped improve the plant's production, quality assurance and continuous improvement processes, leading to further enhancements in product quality and customer satisfaction."
