Freightliner LLC Names Alan Mayne General Manager of Manufacturing Operations

PORTLAND, OREGON...Alan Mayne has been named General Manager of Manufacturing Operations for Freightliner LLC. Based at Freightliner’s corporate headquarters here, Mayne will be responsible for top manufacturing management including production, quality, cost control, capacity planning, investment and environmental compliance. His areas of responsibility encompass all Freightliner LLC truck manufacturing plants and the company’s parts manufacturing business. He reports to Roger Nielsen, Chief Operating Officer for Freightliner LLC.



“Alan Mayne is a great addition to the Freightliner manufacturing management team,” Nielsen said. “His broad experience in truck and component building will benefit the Freightliner manufacturing organization as we continue to implement creative initiatives related to production management, quality, cost optimization, employee involvement and continuous improvement.”



Mayne has over 25 years experience in the commercial vehicle manufacturing business. He comes to Freightliner from a competing North American truck manufacturer, where he spent the last 17 years in plant management and business unit operations. Prior to that, he served as vice president of manufacturing for Applied Power, and previously worked for Dana Corporation and Rockwell International. He holds Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of Nebraska.
