Freightliner LLC Names Bob Pacillas Manager of Cleveland, N.C., Truck Manufacturing Plant

PORTLAND, OREGON AND CLEVELAND, N.C.…Freightliner LLC today announced that Bob Pacillas has been named manager of the company’s Cleveland, N.C., Truck Manufacturing Plant. In his new position, Pacillas will be responsible for all plant operations including production, quality, materials, facilities engineering, human resources and maintenance. He reports to Alan Mayne, General Manager of Manufacturing Operations for Freightliner LLC.

“We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Bob Pacillas to head the Freightliner LLC Cleveland, North Carolina, manufacturing operation,” said Mayne. “Bob’s broad in commercial vehicle production will be a great asset as the plant continues extensive operations to meet strong customer demand.”

Pacillas is a 36-year Freightliner LLC veteran. Since March 2003, he has served as Manager of the company’s Gastonia, N.C., Parts Manufacturing Plant. Before that, he was Director of Production at the Cleveland plant from 1989 to 2003. His experience includes a variety of management positions in production and materials. He has also worked at the company’s Mount Holly, N.C., Truck Manufacturing Plant. Bob holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Kennedy-Western University.

Pacillas succeeds John Stevenson, who was appointed President of Freightliner LLC’s American LaFrance subsidiary in October.

The Cleveland, N.C., Truck Manufacturing Plant is Freightliner’s largest manufacturing facility. The plant currently employs 3,800 people in the production of Class 8 vehicles including the Freightliner Century Class S/T, Columbia and Argosy. Earlier this year, the company announced the addition of a new third shift and 600 additional jobs at the Cleveland plant.
