Special events, guest appearances planned
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – March 21, 2012 – Freightliner Trucks is kicking off its 70th anniversary celebration with a museum-quality exhibit highlighting the company’s achievements and the unveiling of its latest concept truck at the 2012 Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS).
“Since the start of our company in 1942, we have been driven to develop cutting-edge innovation that improve our customers’ bottom lines,” said TJ Reed, director of product marketing for Freightliner Trucks. “From alternative fuel vehicles to long-lasting components to the latest in aerodynamic achievements, our mission remains clearly focused on benefiting our customers. We are excited to celebrate this milestone at MATS and throughout the year.”
In addition to showcasing the company’s historical achievements and latest innovations, several special events and appearances are planned at the Freightliner Trucks booth (#30125), including:
Robb Mariani, host of the hit TV show American Trucker, will serve as Freightliner’s in-booth emcee. Mariani will host live interviews with company executives and will be available for autographs and meet-and-greets from the show open until 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 24.
Record-holding stunt driver Mike Ryan will showcase his new custom-built Freightliner Cascadia® race truck which he will use in hill climb competitions and other driving exhibitions throughout the year.
Legendary NASCAR® driver Richard Petty will be signing autographs at the Freightliner booth on Thursday, March 22 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
John Force, the renowned National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) driver and team owner, will make a special appearance at the Freightliner booth on Friday, March 23 from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. Freightliner Trucks is a proud sponsor of John Force Racing, Inc.
Freightliner trucks spanning almost every decade since the 1940s will also be on display at MATS in the Historic Truck Display in the PKY Truck Beauty Contest.
