PORTLAND, OREGON… Alex Bernasconi has been named Vice President of Sales for Freightliner Trucks, effective immediately. In his new position, Bernasconi will oversee all U.S. and Canada heavy- and medium-duty truck sales initiatives for Freightliner Trucks. Reporting to him will be Freightliner Trucks’ four U.S. regional sales offices, the Canada sales operation and the Business Class M2 and Vocational Sales group. Bernasconi will report to Mark Lampert, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Freightliner Trucks.
Bernasconi most recently served as General Manager of Freightliner Trucks’ Western Sales Region. In this position, he was responsible for working with Freightliner Trucks dealers to serve customers in 13 Western states. Prior to that, he was Director of Business Class & Vocational Sales for Freightliner Trucks, responsible for sales of Freightliner’s Class 5-8 Business Class product line. He first joined Freightliner in 1997 as a manager of vocational sales. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington.

Bernasconi replaces Bob Cariglia, who is leaving the company in late March to pursue opportunities outside the trucking industry.
