Freightliner Trucks Offers Allison Optimized Packages for Business Class M2 112 Natural Gas Models
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Freightliner Trucks today announced it has extended its partnership with Allison Transmission, Inc., to offer Allison Optimized packages for its Freightliner Business Class® M2 112 line of natural gas vehicles. Allison Optimized packages feature a variety of specs for optimum performance and efficiency.
The ideal transmission solution for alternative fuel vehicles, Allison Optimized packages include patented torque converter technology that results in improved startability at launch of the vehicle. Allison’s full power shifts compensate for the lower horsepower and torque found in many alternative fuel engines by putting more power to the wheels. And, because alternative fuel engines often have slower response-time-to-throttle cycles, Allison’s technology results in a better performing engine.
The Allison Optimized package for Freightliner Business Class M2 112 natural gas vehicles includes:
Shift Energy Management
Load Base Shift Schedule
TES 295 Synthetic Fluid
"Freightliner Trucks continues to pave the way with our alternative fuel options, and the Allison Optimized package only contributes to the efficiency and performance of these vehicles," said Melissa Clausen, director of product marketing for Freightliner Trucks. “By continuing our partnership with Allison Transmission, we are providing the best-performing vehicles and options to our customers.”
The Allison Optimized package is now available for the Business Class M2 112 Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) tractor with Allison 3000 HS model. For municipal and other vocational applications, the Business Class M2 112 LNG and CNG straight trucks are available with the Allison Optimized 3000 RDS model. Allison Optimized packages are also available for the Coronado® dump truck and complete line of Freightliner Business Class M2 trucks.
