Freightliner Trucks Showcases Cascadia Evolution at GATS
FORT MILL, SC. – Aug. 22, 2012 – Freightliner Trucks today announced that it will showcase the Freightliner Cascadia® Evolution at the Great American Trucking Show (GATS) in Dallas (Aug. 23-25, 2012) in booth #12113. This marks the first time that the Cascadia Evolution will be on display for the public.
Powered by a newly designed Detroit™ DD15® engine and featuring some of the most advanced aerodynamic enhancements in the industry, the Cascadia Evolution provides up to a 5 percent improvement in fuel economy compared to a current model year Cascadia equipped with the latest aerodynamic upgrades, and up to a 7 percent improvement in fuel economy compared to the EPA 2010-compliant Cascadia model equipped with a first-generation aerodynamic package. The truck model is now available to order.
In addition, attendees will also have the opportunity to apply to become a Team Run Smart pro at the Freightliner Trucks booth. A new, online community offering a wealth of trucking industry resources, Team Run Smart was developed to help owner-operators, company drivers and fleet managers advance in the business of trucking. The Freightliner booth will include stations to sign-up for Team Run Smart on-site, and community contributors will be available to discuss the program.
“Our GATS booth reinforces our commitment to helping business-minded drivers run smarter,” said TJ Reed, director of product marketing for Freightliner Trucks. “In addition to developing innovative products that drive efficiency, Freightliner Trucks supports drivers by fostering interaction and helping to identify best practices within the industry.”
The booth will also feature the debut of the FIT system (Freightliner In-cab Training system), co-developed with Bob Perry, the Trucker Trainer™, and his company Rolling Strong. In development as an option for on-highway class 8 Freightliner trucks, the FIT system supports driver health and wellness by creating an in-cab fitness system using resistance bands.
