Freightliner Trucks, the Official Heavy Duty Truck Sponsor of NASCAR®, Sponsors Top NASCAR® Racing Teams and Increases Support to Diversity Programs
PORTLAND, Ore. – Freightliner Trucks today announced its continued support of NASCAR® with its official sponsorship of the 2010 season. This marks the company’s fifth year as the official heavy duty truck sponsor of the sport. Freightliner Trucks will also serve as the sponsor for nine teams competing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™.
Throughout the NASCAR® racing season, Freightliner Trucks-sponsored teams rely on their Coronado®, Classic XL and Cascadia® trucks to transport their cars, supplies and equipment to races across the country.
For the 2010 racing season, Freightliner Trucks will sponsor the following NASCAR® racing teams: Hendrick Motorsports, whose driver, Jimmie Johnson for the No. 48 car, has won an unprecedented four consecutive NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™ championships in a row; Penske Racing; Richard Petty Motorsports; Joe Gibbs Racing; RCR (Richard Childress) Racing; Robby Gordon Motorsports; Michael Waltrip Racing; Rusty Wallace Racing; and Front Row Motorsports.
“Part of our overall success depends on having reliable partners such as Freightliner Trucks transporting our equipment,” said Roger Penske. “Freightliner Trucks represent high quality and reliability, and we are proud to have Penske Racing associated with them.”
Freightliner Trucks is also expanding its NASCAR® presence by sponsoring Revolution Racing and the Drive for Diversity program, the industry’s leading on-track development initiative for minority and female drivers and crew members. Revolution Racing is an academy-style development team that operates four NASCAR Camping World Series East teams and six NASCAR Whelen All-American Series teams.
“Freightliner Trucks is proud to continue its support of NASCAR®, its programs and its teams,” said Melissa Clausen, director of product marketing for Freightliner Trucks. “We have built a strong, long-term relationship with NASCAR® over the past several years and look forward to another exciting season.”
