Galaxy Coach Enterprises Chooses FCCC MB-55 Commercial Bus Chassis for New Bus Models

CHICAGO, Ill. - Two new bus models from Galaxy Coach Enterprises - one of which was showcased here at BusCon 2009 - are now riding on the Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) MB-55 commercial bus chassis.

Galaxy Coach Enterprises, based in Santa Ana, Calif., manufactures buses, limousines and hearses for the commercial bus industry. At BusCon 2009, Galaxy introduced its newest bus model, the Coachliner, for shuttle bus applications. The Coachliner riding on the FCCC MB-55 chassis can be seen at Booth# 723 at the show.

Tim Tang, president of Galaxy Coach Enterprises, said he chose to work with FCCC because of the excellent reputation the company and its products have within the marketplace.

"We evaluated several different chassis models from multiple manufacturers, and the MB-55 was simply the best commercial bus chassis available on the market," Tang said. "The MB-55 was a perfect fit for the Coachliner body design. Furthermore, FCCC is a known brand, with a long-standing reputation for high-quality, durable chassis."

Coachliner is a front-engine bus with a European body style and superior performance/price ratio, Tang said. The bus is equipped with a Cummins® ISB engine, Allison® transmission, and Carrier air conditioning system, and many more optional features.

The FCCC MB-55 front-engine diesel, straight-rail chassis boasts of a heavy-duty steel frame rail that reduces flex, bowing and vibration, thereby minimizing coach stress and maximizing driver and passenger comfort. Furthermore, the exceptional 50-degree wheel cut of the MB-55 allows for increased maneuverability, providing easier travel through urban settings with tight turns and cramped spaces.

The second Galaxy bus model riding on the FCCC MB-55 introduced this year is the Partyliner commercial bus for party bus applications.

Along with the durability and dependability benefits of the MB-55 chassis, Tang said another reason his company chose to partner with FCCC is the fact that there are more than 400 Freightliner service centers across the United States.

"We are pleased to work with Galaxy Coach as they introduce new bus models into the marketplace," said Jonathan Randall, director of sales and marketing for FCCC. "FCCC is focused on providing the best products and customer service to our customers. The MB-55 commercial bus chassis is durable, reliable and maneuverable; a quality product that showcases why yet another coach manufacturer has opted to partner with FCCC."
