REDFORD, Mich. – April 29, 2008 – The Sterling Bullet™ leads the Class 4-5 cab chassis market in fuel efficiency, according to a new report from independent automotive research institute Transportation Research Center, Inc. (TRC).

When tested against two competitive, similarly spec’d products, the Bullet used between 14 and 23 percent less fuel, resulting in a potential advantage of 1.3 to 2.0 miles per gallon. This results in a potential annual savings of between $900 and $1,300 based on the truck traveling 20,000 miles per year and an average diesel fuel cost of $3.50 per gallon.

“More business owners are looking for a Class 4/5 truck that can increase productivity and efficiency and the Bullet really delivers,” said Matthew Stevenson, director of Daimler Trucks North America’s Light Commercial Vehicles group. “Not only is the Bullet a reliable, versatile vehicle, it also can save owners a lot of money.”

The newest member of the Sterling family, the Bullet is ideal for demanding applications including construction, utility, municipal services and more. Several impressive features come standard on the Bullet, including a powerful Cummins ISB 6.7L engine with exhaust brake, a power take-off prep package, and a rugged 34-inch wide, 50,000 psi frame for easy body builder upfit.

Offered as a regular cab in four wheelbases or as a quad cab in two wheelbases, the Bullet also features two- or four-wheel drive and optional snow plow and towing packages.

“The Bullet comes standard with our strong dealer network that specializes in commercial vehicles – which means service centers are open longer hours, and technicians are trained to get trucks back to work fast,” Stevenson added.
