LOUISVILLE, Ky., – (March 26, 2014) – Western Star Truck Sales, Inc. today announced that a 23-gallon Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) tank is now available for the Western Star® 4700 equipped with a Detroit™ DD13® engine.
Key to Daimler’s proven BlueTec® SCR emissions process, a larger DEF tank increases maximum fuel capacity, resulting in longer ranges of operation and enhanced fuel economy for regional haul applications.
“The pairing of a 23-gallon DEF tank with our 4700 truck extends our customers’ productivity and time on the job giving them more time between refills,” said Ann Demitruk, director of marketing, Western Star. “From our premium accessories and beyond, we want to give Western Star customers the best options for every application.”
Available in set-back and set-forward configurations, the hand-built 4700 features a 110-inch BBC and is specially designed for construction and municipal segments. In tractor configurations, the 4700 is also ideal for food and beverage, petroleum and bulk haul applications.
