Celebratory event and surprise jobsite visits planned for August 27
NASHVILLE – Aug. 4, 2015 – With public and private construction projects such as the Division Street extension, Korean War Veterans Bridge lighting project, and the proposed South Broadway tower, it’s no surprise Nashville has been named as the latest Freightliner Trucks Hardest Working City. The recognition program by Freightliner Trucks honors cities spearheading community growth and innovation. Since the launch of the program earlier this year, the company has also awarded Indianapolis and Salt Lake City with the title.
“We are thankful for those who use our products to achieve great things for their city,” said Diane Hames, general manager, marketing and strategy for Daimler Trucks North America. “Workers greatly impact their communities. The Freightliner Trucks Hardest Working Cities program gives us a chance to recognize this important work.”
As part of the Nashville celebration, Freightliner Trucks will host an award presentation on August 27 at one of their most experienced dealerships, Neely Coble. Workers, truck equipment manufacturers and community leaders will be in attendance. Surprise gift deliveries will be made to several Nashville jobsites that morning to thank city workers.
“There is a strong correlation between vibrant economies and smart investments made in construction, manufacturing and transportation that help create stronger communities,” said Mary Aufdemberg, director of product marketing for Freightliner Trucks. “We’re eager to acknowledge and thank cities that embody determination, innovation and job creation.”
The process of identifying cities working the hardest to drive the economy involved an exhaustive review of approximately 400 metropolitan census areas in the United States and Canada. Data was grouped into 11 different data categories ranging from growth in total employment to contribution to total gross domestic product.
