LOUISVILLE, Ky. – March 25, 2015 – For the first time, the new Western Star 5700XE will be available for public ride & drives at the 2015 Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS). CDL-certified drivers can experience the 5700XE first-hand behind the South Wing loading docks lot of the Kentucky Expo Center on March 26 and 27, during regular MATS show hours.

Inside the plush cab, the ride & drive will immediately immerse drivers in the premium details that make the 5700XE distinctive, such as Ultraleather seats, an adjustable, driver-friendly steering column and state-of-the-art steering wheel with integrated controls.

Once on the road, drivers will appreciate the smooth and powerful ride of the 5700XE. Powered by Detroit, the 5700XE features the Detroit DD15® engine, a direct drive Detroit DT12 automated manual transmission matched with Detroit front and rear axles.

“With the 5700XE, drivers will have an exceptional experience behind the wheel while feeling the great performance of the DT12 transmission,” said Ann Demitruk, director of marketing for Western Star. “We’re excited for MATS attendees to test drive the 5700XE for themselves.”
