Ramin Younessi Named Chief Test Engineer for Freightliner LLC

PORTLAND, OREGON…Freightliner LLC has appointed Ramin Younessi General Manager - Chief Test Engineer. In his new position, Younessi is responsible for all aspects of product and component testing and evaluation for the Freightliner Group’s line of heavy- and medium-duty vehicles. He reports to Michael von Mayenburg, Senior Vice President, Engineering & Technology, Freightliner LLC.



For the past two years, Younessi has served as Director of Strategic Product Planning and Production Network for DaimlerChrysler’s Commercial Vehicle Division in Stuttgart, Germany. Before this post, Younessi was Director of Product Marketing for the Freightliner Trucks division of Freightliner LLC. Prior to that, he served as Manager, Engineering Operations and Planning for Freightliner LLC. Younessi joined Freightliner in 1994 as a project engineer.



Younessi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology, a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University and a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from the University of Maryland.



Younessi replaces Jim Tipka, who has retired after 22 years of service to Freightliner.
