REDFORD, MICH. – May 20, 2008 – Sterling Truck Corporation and Heritage Propane – a division of Energy Transfer Partners – recently introduced a new initiative focused on raising awareness and funds for breast and prostate cancer.

The Dallas-based propane and natural gas distributor recently ordered three new Acterra® trucks from Lauderdale, Minn.–based Sterling dealer Boyer Trucks – one painted pink, two painted blue. For every gallon of fuel each truck uses, ETP will donate 1 cent to the American Breast Cancer Foundation and the Prostate Cancer Foundation, totaling almost $10,000 annually for each organization. And since these trucks can last for up to 15 years, up to $300,000 will be donated.

Heritage launched the program on March 30 at the National Propane Gas Association’s Southeastern Convention and International Propane Expo in Atlanta, when Sterling and 16 other suppliers – including Gardner Marsh, Covington Power, Brakes, Inc., Hannay Reels, Base Engineering, Propane Trucks & Tanks, and more – kicked off the program. Sterling provided an initial donation of $2,500, while suppliers provided additional donations and the parts and service to get the trucks on the road.

“We created an annuity for these foundations to ensure they’d get support year after year. We’re thrilled that Sterling and the rest of our suppliers are so supportive of this effort,” said Bill Powers, CEO, Heritage Propane. “Because Sterling trucks are so reliable, we know that we’ll be making significant contributions based on their usage for years to come.”

“We’re excited for this opportunity to work with Heritage, not only by providing them with reliable work trucks, but also by working together to help resolve an issue that touches people in every community.” said Sherri Richards, medium duty segment manager for Sterling Truck Corporation. “These trucks are always ready to go to work, and the support for these foundations is ongoing, so this is truly an All Day. Every Day. partnership.”

The trucks will be operating in several locations nationwide, including Jacksonville Beach, Fla., Indianapolis, and San Jose, Calif., featuring decals that tout each contributing organization.
