School Bus Manufacturer Delivers The First Saf-T-Liner® C2
HIGH POINT, N.C….Signed, sealed and delivered. That’s how Thomas Built Buses employees presented the very first customer-ready Saf-T-Liner® C2 school bus.
John O’Leary, President and CEO of Thomas Built Buses, handed the keys to John Elliott, President and CEO of Austin, Texas-based Durham School Services in a ceremony at the company’s 275,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in High Point, N.C.
O’Leary said an enormous amount of creativity, hard work and customer input led to the Durham School Services delivery. “We share a common goal of safely delivering North America’s children to and from school each and every day,” O’Leary said. “And now with the C2, Durham and Thomas will be linked by a product designed to take school transportation to new levels of safety, durability, reliability, serviceability and driver ergonomics.”
Elliott agreed. “Adding Thomas’ C2 buses to our fleet furthers the investment in our number one priority: child safety. At Durham, part of our mission is to deliver every child safe, on time and ready to learn, every day.”
Each Thomas C2 plant employee and representatives from Durham School Services personally signed the hood of Job One during the ceremony. The signed hood will be permanently displayed in the C2 plant to commemorate the milestone.
