Western Star Trucks Celebrates Outstanding Year of Sales Growth
LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY… Western Star Trucks celebrated an outstanding year in 2004, with sales and production figures larger than any year since 2000. Additionally, the manufacturer of custom-built premium trucks added to its U.S. and Canadian dealer network. Western Star executives recapped the company’s progress at a press conference at the Mid-America Trucking show here.
“The success of the past 12 months is a direct reflection of the hard work and dedication of everyone at Western Star Trucks,” said John Merrifield, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Western Star Trucks. “Their unwavering commitment to our products and customers has made our growth possible. Together, we look to the future with great anticipation and expectation that our momentum will lead us well into the years to come.”
In 2004, Western Star recorded sales of more than 4,200 vehicles, an increase of approximately 1,000 units from the previous year. The company grew in both the owner-operator and vocational segments.
“In addition to a year of significant sales and production growth, we saw an increase in the number of proprietary MBE4000 engines purchased by our customers,” continued Merrifield.
Last year also proved to be a banner year for Western Star’s growing network of dealers. It added 36 new locations throughout the U.S. and Canada, bringing the total number of dealerships at year’s end to more than 330. Since 2002, Western Star has grown its dealer network by approximately 70 percent by adding nearly 140 new locations.
“Growing our dealer network is essential to the success of the Western Star brand,” added Merrifield. “Because of its outstanding growth, service is right around the corner, and our customers can now rely on outstanding support wherever they go.”
