TORONTO, ONTARIO… Western Star Trucks showcases its EPA 2007 chassis at Truck World 2006, Canada’s largest medium- and heavy-duty truck show, from

April 20-22.

Visitors to booth #3521 can get a first-hand view of the following Western Star trucks:

  • 4900 EX day cab with EPA 2007 Detroit Diesel Series 60 engine

  • 4900 SA day cab dump truck with MBE 4000 engine

Known for its line of premium on-highway and vocational trucks, Western Star displays its EPA 2007 chassis – a 4900 EX with a Detroit Diesel Series 60 engine – with several updates including new cooling packages and exhaust systems. The new chassis fulfills all 2007 emissions regulations and ensures peak engine efficiency.

The flagship of the Western Star brand, the 4900 EX, features a set-back front axle, extended 132-inch BBC, and the traditional long-nose style that owner-operators appreciate. Along with being one of the quietest and most comfortable cabs on the road, this premium truck is perfect for highway applications, including long-haul and auto-haul. In addition, the 4900 EX can handle any vocational application including dump, logging, heavy-haul, and towing/recovery.

With unmatched on site maneuverability, the set-back Western Star 4900 SA is available in two BBCs to accommodate different dump applications. Both BBCs feature a standard supervisibility hood, with a non-sloping hood available for larger radiators.

Western Star Trucks, headquartered in Redford, Mich., produces heavy-duty custom trucks for long-haul and vocational applications. Western Star is a company of Freightliner LLC. Freightliner LLC is a unit of DaimlerChrysler, the world's leading commercial vehicle manufacturer.
