What do you do?
I am responsible for generating and maintaining labor standards for all our truck plants. The truck plants use this data to plan and optimize their manpower requirements. My group and I estimate labor requirements for new designs and work with Process and Design Engineering colleagues to ensure new designs are manufacturing-friendly. We also assist during plant rearrangements, conduct capacity analysis, and help identify and contain production bottlenecks.
What’s your favorite part of working here?
Like the trucks we build, my job can vary a lot – working on new product introductions, or moving products from one plant to another, conducting make versus buy studies, reviewing labor standards at the plants, or assisting my colleagues when required. I get to interact with operators on the shop floor and with management at the plants and at the corporate office. This variety in my work is what I relish and enjoy the most.
How are you innovating?
Within our department, a lot of emphasis is put on standardization and documentation of our processes. This helps us continuously improve our processes and allows us to better serve our customers’ needs.

I am given a lot of flexibility in how I accomplish my work. This allows me to become as efficient as I can possibly be, learning new tools and applying them to my job. This is a great incentive to come to work. Besides, being part of a very large company, there are opportunities in several different fields of work, not only in the United States, but also around the world.
What do you do outside of work?
I have two young daughters, so most of my time is spent doing what they want to do. I coach my daughters Lego team. We enjoy traveling as a family. I am a tennis fan and try to play at least few times a year when it is not raining.Teams and Roles
