Daimler Trucks North America President & CEO, Roger Nielsen is responsible for all aspects of DTNA and its affiliated companies, including Freightliner Trucks, Western Star trucks, Thomas Built Buses (TBB), Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) and Detroit Diesel Corporation.
Previously, Mr. Nielsen served as DTNA’s chief operating officer responsible for the company’s entire manufacturing network, as well as all levels of operations in quality, supplier management, logistics and customer application engineering. In addition, he has served as president & CEO of both TBB and FCCC, and he oversaw DTNA’s continuous improvement programs.
Mr. Nielsen joined DTNA (then Freightliner Corporation) in 1986 as an industrial engineer. Since then, he has held various positions at DTNA in the U.S. as well as at Daimler’s Commercial Vehicles divisions in Germany. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Oregon State University.
As Senior Vice President, Engineering & Technology, Dr. Müller-Finkeldei oversees all DTNA product engineering activities, including design, testing, styling, analysis, compliance, and planning functions.
Dr. Müller-Finkeldei has held increasing roles of responsibility across Daimler business units and engineering functions since joining Daimler’s research labs in 1995. Most recently, he served as head of mechatronics at Mercedes-Benz Trucks in Germany after roles with Daimler Trucks, Daimler Vans, and Daimler’s research and technology department.
Dr. Müller-Finkeldei holds a PhD and Master’s in Computer Science and Physics from the Julius-Maximilians University of Wurzburg, Germany. He studied computer science at both the University of Würzburg and The University of Texas at Austin.
As Senior Vice President, Operations and Specialty Vehicles, Mr. Allen oversees DTNA’s complete manufacturing network, Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation, and Thomas Built Buses.
Previously, Mr. Allen served as the vice president of operations at Detroit Diesel Corporation (DDC) where he led all facets of the Detroit operation, including management of Detroit’s powertrain headquarters in Michigan and Detroit’s axle plant in Saltillo, Mexico. He has also served as vice president of operations for Thomas Built Buses and as director of assembly at DDC.
Mr. Allen’s experience at Daimler Trucks includes over 25 years of leadership and operational responsibility. He started his career with Daimler at Detroit in 1992 as a business unit manager. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Michigan State University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Oakland University.
As Senior Vice President, Vocational Sales & Marketing, Mr. Carson leads all sales, marketing, and strategic planning activity for DTNA’s complete line of vocational trucks. As CDO, Mr. Carson ensures alignment of diversity and inclusion strategies across the organization.
Previously, Mr. Carson served as president & CEO of Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation where he oversaw engineering, operations, and sales and marketing for DTNA’s chassis business. He has also served DTNA in a variety of leadership roles, including as the company’s general manager of human resources responsible for all human resource matters.
Mr. Carson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Industrial Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
As General Manager, Human Resources, Eileen Frack leads all human capital management, including diversity, equity and inclusion, labor and employee relations, compensation and rewards, talent acquisition, employee, organization and management development, health and safety programs, and HR innovations.
Ms. Frack began her career with DTNA in 2005 as director of the Office of Tax Affairs and International Trade Compliance. As an inaugural member of the first Diversity Steering Committee and after leading numerous cross-functional projects, she became director of Executive Management Development.
Ms. Frack has more than 20 years of experience in finance and leadership development and diversity and inclusion. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Oregon State University.
As Senior Vice President, On-highway Sales and Marketing, Mr. Howard is responsible for all sales, marketing and strategic planning for DTNA’s On-highway Segment. He also oversees Detroit Diesel Corporation, Daimler Trucks Remarketing, and Daimler Vehiculos Commerciales Mexico.
Prior to joining DTNA, Mr. Howard served as president and CEO of Daimler Financial Services, Africa and Asia Pacific, and was a member of Daimler Financial Services AG Board of Management. Over a 20-year period, Mr. Howard built his career through the ranks of Daimler Financial Services organization for both Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and commercial trucks divisions and has held assignments in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Latin America, South Africa, and Asia.
Mr. Howard holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Ashton University in the United Kingdom.
As Senior Vice President, Aftermarket, Mr. Kurschner leads DTNA’s aftermarket functions, including customer experience, dealer service, distribution network development, parts sales and marketing, parts distribution, Alliance Parts, and Detroit Reman.
Previously, Mr. Kurschner served as the president and CEO of Daimler Vehículos Comerciales Mexico, where he oversaw sales, marketing, service, dealer operations, product planning, engineering and manufacturing functions.
During his 25-year career with Daimler, Mr. Kurschner has held a variety of management positions around the world, including in Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Mexico and the United States. He holds a Master’s degree with emphasis on logistics and international management from the University of Mannheim, Germany.
As Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, John O’Leary directs operational and strategic controlling, treasury, accounting, tax, and IT functions for DTNA and its affiliated companies.
Previously, Mr. O’Leary served as the senior vice president of Aftermarket, with responsibility for customer experience, dealer service, distribution network development, parts sales and marketing, parts distribution, Alliance Parts, and Detroit Reman. His role also included oversight and development of DTNA’s Aftermarket Service Products, including extended chassis and engine warranties, telematics, and contract maintenance.
Mr. O’Leary has also previously served as president & CEO of Thomas Built Buses, where he oversaw sales, marketing, service, dealer operations, product planning, engineering and manufacturing functions.
Mr. O’Leary has more than 30 years of experience in a wide variety of financial roles for truck and electronics manufacturers. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting at Seattle University, and he completed the Executive Program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
